TRODO BOX LEAGUE

Trodo, a Chicago based start-up, recently launched Trodo Box League focused on strengthening the CrossFit community.

Trodo’s mission is to give all athletes, regardless of skill level, the chance to represent their box with pride against other local boxes to ultimately get better as a community.

Trodo’s early success can be attributed to its community mission, format of the league and programming. Events are held all year round and reward community participation heavily. Workouts are team-based, scalable, require athletes to strategize, and are designed to get all athletes involved.

“Our mission to create experiences where athletes are willing to put themselves out there to be vulnerable and we do this through the power of community,” said Trodo Founder, Tiffaney Florentine.

Trodo plans to expand in Chicago and other major Midwest metros in 2014, along with its other two business segments Trodo Workplace and Trodo Youth, focused on consulting with organizations to create communities dedicated to fitness.

REVLETICS PULL-UP BAR WRAP

Revletics, a developer of innovative fitness products, recently announced the national launch of its innovative, patent-pending pull-up bar wrap.

The wrap is designed to cover pull-up bars for superior gripping capability, better hygiene, and increased comfort for athletes.

Athletes continually rip their hands on bare pull-up bars. “I can’t imagine going back to cold, unwrapped bars,” said Robyn Pettinger, owner of CrossFit Rep, a gym in Austin. “When I work out on the pull-up bars now that we have the Revletics wrap, my hands stay perfect. They don’t even come close to ripping like they used to.”

Even when gym owners wrapped pull-up bars with athletic tape for better gripping, the tape caused many problems. “After a few weeks, the tape got sticky, dirty, and bloody,” said Ryan Huddleston, co-founder and chief product officer at Revletics. “We knew we could design a better solution, and we’ve done that with the Revletics wraps. They last for months and months without showing wear, and they are easy to clean.”

The wrap is sold according to the length of the bar and starts at just $2.99. The material lasts approximately 4-6 months, depending on use, at which time it can be easily removed and replaced.
